The comparison: iPhone 16e vs. iPhone 14

The iPhone 16e is very similar to the iPhone 14. We have summarized the most important similarities and differences for you here:

Size & shape: ✅

The iPhone 16e is said to have the same case shape as the iPhone 14, meaning that Cases for the old iPhone are generally compatible. It is unlikely that Apple will deviate from the dimensions of the iPhone 14, as the use of available production facilities for the old case shape would provide a cost advantage in production.

Buttons & connections: ✅

The placement of the volume buttons, the power button and the charging port of the iPhone 16e is largely identical to that of the iPhone 14. Therefore, iPhone 16e Cases also require the same cut-outs for buttons and connections.

Camera section: ❌

The biggest difference lies in the camera section. While in the GWhile the iPhone 14 case still had two diagonal lenses, the iPhone 16e comes with a 2in1 camera system, i.e. only one camera lens. Using the old Case could therefore lead to optical losses and possibly damage to the camera lens.

MagSafe: ❌

Unlike the iPhone 14, the iPhone 16e is not compatible with MagSafe. iPhone 16e Cases therefore do not require an extra magnetic module on the back of the Case. However, if your old Case has a MagSafe magnet installed, it allows you to attach the iPhone 16e to a MagSafe holder, e.g. for your car.
